Through practical, long-term support, GELEX is helping young people stay in school and keep moving towards their goals.

In the heart of Hanoi, Binh Minh Primary School serves both primary students and children with intellectual disabilities through its inclusive education programme. For these students, a lesson can be about much more than learning new knowledge. It can also help them develop everyday skills, interact with others and grow more confident in the classroom.

Supporting students with different learning needs requires teachers to find approaches that work for each child. Until recently, only one classroom at the school had an interactive display. Smart screens and air-conditioning units donated by VIWASUPCO, a GELEX Group company, have helped improve the learning environment. Images, sound and interactive activities give teachers more ways to make lessons engaging and accessible, helping students learn in ways that work for them.

At the start of the new school year, GELEX also donated 60 computers to Nguyen Khac Vien High School in Ha Tinh. For students with limited access to technology, the computers provide a practical tool for learning, research and developing digital skills. Teachers can also make greater use of technology in the classroom and explore new ways of teaching.

In Hanoi, Nguyen Ba Thanh lost his father at a young age, while his mother’s illness has made it difficult for her to fully support him. Thanh now lives with his aunt. Since 2024, GELEX has provided him with a scholarship and committed to supporting his education until he turns 18. The support, provided at the beginning of each school year, helps his family cover education-related expenses and allows Thanh to focus on his studies.

In 2024, GELEX awarded a scholarship to Nguyen Ba Thanh in Hanoi, with education support committed through to the age of 18.

For Phan Le Thanh Tra in Ha Tinh, the road to university has not been straightforward. In 2025, Tra scored 27 points in the national university entrance examination – the highest score in the C00 subject combination at Le Huu Trac High School – and was admitted to university. But her family could not afford the cost of higher education, so she took a factory job instead. Even while working, Tra continued studying on her own. A year later, she was admitted to university again. Then came another difficult decision. With tuition and accommodation to pay for, Tra was considering using the money she had saved from working to buy medicine for her mother and support her younger siblings.

Through the “Nang Buoc Den Truong” programme run by VietNamNet, GELEX contributed VND 100 million to support Tra. The assistance came just as she was deciding whether she could afford to start university. After a year of working while continuing to hold on to her goal, Tra now has the opportunity to take the next step towards the education she has worked so hard for.

Each form of support responds to a different need. At Binh Minh, it means giving teachers better tools to support students with intellectual disabilities. For Ba Thanh, it means continued support throughout his school years. For Thanh Tra, it means a helping hand at a critical moment before university begins. When support reaches the right person at the right time, it can help keep education on track. “What matters to us is making sure support reaches the right person, at the right time, and addresses a real need,” said Nguyen Hong Nhung, GELEX Group’s Communications Director. “Some challenges need to be addressed immediately so that a young person can start the new school year. Others require consistent support over several years. When education can continue, young people have more opportunities to develop their abilities and shape their own future”.

Supporting education is one way GELEX invests in people and contributes to the wider community. The value of that support goes beyond what is given today. It is about helping students stay in school, giving young people the chance to step into a university classroom, and keeping the door to a different future open.
