On July 16, 2025, GELEX Group’s Data Analytics Team conducted a training session on “Data Analysis and Building Automation Tools” for employees of Vietnam Electric Cable Corporation (CADIVI).
This program is part of GELEX’s strategic initiative to strengthen digital capabilities and promote data-driven decision-making, one of the Group’s core competencies in this new development phase.
The training was thoughtfully designed to balance theory and practical application. Participants were introduced to modern data analytics thinking, explored the strategic value of data in business operations, and learned how to build and apply automation tools for real-world use.
The hands-on component focused on building intelligent dashboards that allow users to extract and analyze data from various sources. These dashboards visualize key indicators through charts, graphs, and other data representation formats. Using Power BI, participants were guided through the basics of automating data updates, cleaning datasets, and designing dashboards, an essential step in reducing manual processes, improving accuracy, and enhancing operational efficiency.
Thanks to its structured, practical approach, the program not only equipped CADIVI employees with new knowledge but also offered an introductory understanding of data analysis tools, automation, and how these can be effectively applied to everyday tasks in more flexible, creative ways.
A highlight of the session was the relatable and down-to-earth sharing by the two instructors, Mr. Nguyễn Xuân Thọ and Ms. Nguyễn Hồ Lân from GELEX’s Data Analytics Team. Neither comes from an IT or programming background, yet their journeys demonstrated that with the right mindset and approach, anyone can begin building data skills—one practical step at a time. Their stories provided motivation and made the learning experience feel accessible and empowering.
Following the session, many participants actively approached the Data Analytics Team to seek further guidance on real challenges within their own departments. Lively discussions took place around how to tap into existing data systems, optimize reporting processes, and design automation tools tailored to their specific needs. The energy and enthusiasm from CADIVI staff reflected a genuine eagerness to apply newly gained knowledge directly into their daily work—bridging training and real-world action.

During the session, Ms. Lê Việt Hà, Director of Internal Audit and Risk Management, who also oversees the Data Analytics Team, emphasized:
“Data analysis is an essential skill in today’s environment. At GELEX, data-driven decision-making has become one of our Core Values. The internal data that CADIVI possesses is a valuable resource—we must find ways to manage and leverage it effectively to generate greater value.”
Mr. Lê Hữu Lộc, Deputy Director of CADIVI’s Business Division, shared how the application of data analysis and automation tools has had a tangible impact on their operations:
“Over the past three months, in collaboration with the Data Analytics Team, we’ve developed a Min-Max tool to help determine optimal inventory levels. This tool not only revealed ‘blind spots’ that traditional data analysis couldn’t detect but also empowered faster and more transparent decision-making. The process of co-creating and implementing the tool inspired us to continue automating manual tasks and to expand the use of modern data analysis tools. We’re proud to be pioneers at CADIVI in embracing new tools and knowledge to optimize operations, save time, and leverage data more effectively, contributing to the sustainable growth of CADIVI and GELEX as a whole.”
These real-life stories from CADIVI illustrate the transformational power of data when it is properly understood and utilized—it becomes a new engine for innovation and lean operations.
In a meaningful gesture, Mr. Hồ Quang Nhân, General Director of CADIVI, announced that the company would sponsor training fees for any CADIVI employees interested in deepening their knowledge in data analysis and automation.
Training programs like this, held across GELEX’s member companies, represent concrete steps in the Group’s commitment to empowering subsidiaries. They reflect both GELEX’s and its subsidiaries’ leadership’s dedication to developing internal capabilities, transforming data into a new source of competitive advantage, and laying the groundwork for sustainable, efficient, and transparent growth across the entire ecosystem.
