The project, co-funded by GELEX and its member companies under the coordination of the Ministry of Public Security in Điện Biên Province, holds special significance in implementing socio-economic development policies and ensuring national defense and security in remote, deep-lying, and border areas.

The electrification project for Phảng Củ and Háng Chua villages in Sáng Nhè Commune has a total investment of over VND 17 billion. It includes more than 5 km of 35kV medium-voltage lines with 50 poles, two transformer stations, and 5.278 km of 0.4kV low-voltage lines with 88 poles. In addition, electricity meters were installed, internal wiring completed, and electrical panels and light bulbs provided to all 194 households. GELEX, together with its member companies GELEX Electric JSC and EMIC Electrical Measuring Equipment JSC, contributed more than VND 10 billion to the project.

Construction began on January 8 under difficult conditions, yet after only 18 days the project was completed, surpassing the planned schedule. On February 6, the inauguration ceremony was held to officially bring the national power grid to Phảng Củ and Háng Chua villages in Sáng Nhè Commune, Điện Biên Province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Vũ Văn Đấu, Director of Điện Biên Provincial Police, emphasized that the completion of the project not only plays an important role in strengthening the province’s power infrastructure and fulfilling the long-held aspirations of local people, but also opens new opportunities for development for the residents of the two villages and the wider Sáng Nhè community.

Phảng Củ and Háng Chua are home to nearly 200 households of the H’Mông ethnic group and are among the most disadvantaged areas of Điện Biên Province.

Thào A Khu, head of Háng Chua village, shared with heartfelt emotion:
“Today our villagers are very happy, because from now on we have electric light. Electricity gives us more confidence and hope. Children can study in the evening, adults can watch television and learn better ways of farming and raising livestock. From now on, our village will gradually change, and our lives will become better day by day”.

Alongside its production and business activities, GELEX and its member companies have for many years remained steadfast in their community mission.

Mr. Phạm Thế Ngọc, General Director of EMIC Electrical Measuring Equipment JSC under GELEX Group, said: “GELEX operates in many key sectors of the economy.
