GELEX Partners with “Red Sunday” 2026: Spreading the Gift of Compassion Through Blood Donation
On the morning of January 11, 2026, the 18th “Red Sunday” voluntary blood donation program officially opened at Hanoi University of Science and Technology. This year, GELEX Group joined the program as a companion partner, continuing a nearly two-decade-long journey of compassion and shared humanity.

After 17 successful editions, “Red Sunday,” organized by Tien Phong Newspaper in coordination with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, has grown into a nationwide social movement. The program has mobilized hundreds of thousands of blood units, providing a precious lifeline to patients across the country.
According to data from the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, 2025 marked a proud milestone, with nearly 1.75 million blood units collected nationwide, of which 98% came from voluntary donors. However, pressure on the blood supply remains significant. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, Northern Vietnam is expected to need approximately 122,000 blood units to serve more than 180 medical facilities.
Behind these figures are tens of thousands of patients waiting each day, and each hour, for the compassion and support of the community to sustain life. In this context, “Red Sunday” continues to affirm its role as a strong humanitarian bridge connecting society with those in need.

Sharing at the event, Ms. Nguyen Hong Nhung, Director of Communications of GELEX Group, remarked that what makes a Sunday truly special is not its color, but the meaningful values spread by people who are willing to give.
She emphasized that when businesses come together and contribute their resources, the program gains greater strength, allowing its message to reach further, touch more people, and create more opportunities for survival for patients in need of blood every single day.

Previously, in celebration of GELEX’s 35th anniversary, from June to August 2025, GELEX and its member companies organized voluntary blood donation activities in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh, and Dong Nai, with approximately 700 successful donors. GELEX’s participation in the 18th Red Sunday is not merely a sponsorship activity, but an integral part of the Group’s development strategy. GELEX remains steadfast in its philosophy that business performance must go hand in hand with social responsibility.

Each unit of blood donated brings renewed hope to a life. Each act of sharing represents another step forward in building a more humane and sustainable society. On that journey, GELEX chooses to stand alongside the community, sharing, supporting, and spreading positive values, as an inseparable part of its own path of growth and development.
