This marks an important milestone for MEE Transmission Transformer Manufacturing JSC (MEEPOWER) as the company officially enters Vietnam’s 220kV transformer market.

 According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Dinh, General Director of MEEPOWER, the installation of the 220kV-250MVA transformer at Binh Tan Substation (Ho Chi Minh City) was carried out under strict technical conditions: low losses, high short-circuit withstand capability, dielectric stability, and the highest standards of operational safety.

The successful energization of the 220kV-250MVA transformer on October 16, 2025, at Binh Tan Substation contributes to ensuring the safe and reliable power supply of the station, meeting the region’s socio-economic development needs and improving business e8fficiency in Ho Chi Minh City.

“The manufacturing process of the transformer was carried out urgently yet carefully, under the close supervision of design and technology engineers. From electromagnetic field simulation, low-loss core design, high-grade insulation winding, to vacuum oil vapor drying and advanced testing systems, all stages strictly complied with IEC 60076 international standards. This is a pivotal step for MEEPOWER, affirming the company’s capability to master high-voltage transformer manufacturing technology,” a MEEPOWER representative affirmed.

After EEMC, MEEPOWER becomes the second Vietnamese enterprise to successfully produce a 220kV-250MVA transformer. The company has implemented comprehensive digital transformation in design, production, and quality management through an integrated PLM-SAP data system. This solution enables traceability, control, and synchronization of information across all stages, from design and production to materials and testing, ensuring the highest levels of quality and reliability.

MEE Transmission Transformer Manufacturing JSC (MEEPOWER), a subsidiary of GELEX Group, a reputable enterprise in Vietnam’s power transmission equipment industry, has been manufacturing 110kV transformers since 2014. These products, designed and built by MEEPOWER, have been operating safely on the national grid, helping Vietnam’s power sector enhance self-reliance in infrastructure investment and ensure stable power supply for socio-economic development.

The company’s continued efforts to research and master ultra-high-voltage transformer manufacturing technology with the 220kV-250MVA project demonstrate its commitment to the Government’s policy of developing key domestic electromechanical products, gradually increasing localization rates, and contributing to national energy security for Vietnam’s sustainable economic growth.
