On June 26, as part of its strategic consulting project and digital transformation roadmap, GELEX Group hosted the “Digital Initiative Exchange” workshop. The event brought together the Group’s senior leadership, representatives from various departments, and the consulting team from FPT Digital.

Based on a comprehensive survey conducted by FPT Digital, over 600 operational issues were identified as opportunities for resolution through digital transformation.

In response, FPT Digital and GELEX have jointly developed a detailed roadmap using the FPT Digital Kaizen methodology, which emphasizes continuous small-scale improvements as the foundation for large and sustainable change.

During the workshop, participants explored a number of high-potential digital initiatives focused on solving the most critical challenges in business and operations. These included the introduction of digital office solutions, AI assistants, and the integration of financial and accounting data systems – all aimed at replacing manual processes and standardizing operations across departments and subsidiaries. Investment governance and portfolio management are also expected to become more streamlined and efficient through digital tools.

For production and business activities, initiatives such as intelligent CRM systems, proactive customer service platforms, real-time transport monitoring, and smart maintenance management will contribute to a comprehensive improvement in customer experience. These systems also provide valuable feedback and data analytics to support product and production optimization.

In parallel, GELEX is placing strong emphasis on developing digital culture, internal training, and knowledge management. These elements are seen as vital to fostering human development in a digital environment.

The workshop also served as a forum for departmental representatives to contribute practical feedback, helping to fine-tune the proposed initiatives to better align with operational needs and specific characteristics of each unit.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyễn Hoàng Long, Deputy CEO of GELEX Group, stressed that each initiative must be approached with ownership by the relevant departments or companies – not just the IT division – because these are real operational matters that demand a change in digital habits and culture. He emphasized that any proposed solution must be genuinely valuable and worth pursuing, and that implementation tools should be simple, user-friendly, and highly integrated.

The leadership team has also requested that all units clearly track the progress of each relevant initiative, assign specific personnel to oversee them, and prioritize implementation based on their level of impact.

According to survey results, GELEX’s current digital maturity is estimated at around 55 to 60 percent, primarily driven by systems like SAP and a variety of specialized digital tools. As GELEX moves toward its goal of becoming a leading investment group in Vietnam, digital transformation has been identified as a core strategy to enhance governance and promote sustainable development. The partnership with FPT Digital, a highly regarded and experienced consulting firm, is expected to play a key role in the success of this strategic journey.
