The leadership change at THIBIDI strengthens strategic alignment across GELEX’s electrical equipment businesses and helps leverage the Group’s capabilities for its next phase of growth.
On October 2, 2026, an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of THIBIDI approved the appointment of Mr. Nguyen Trong Trung as a new member of the Board of Directors for the 2024–2029 term. Following the AGM, the Board of Directors elected Mr. Nguyen Trong Trung as Chairman of the Board.
The appointment is part of THIBIDI’s efforts to strengthen its governance capabilities while deepening coordination between THIBIDI, GELEX Electric and GELEX’s broader industrial ecosystem.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Trung, currently CEO of GELEX Electric, has many years of experience in the electrical equipment industry and has held a number of management and executive positions across GELEX’s businesses. He previously served as CEO of THIBIDI and was also a member of the company’s Board of Directors. His experience across GELEX, together with his understanding of THIBIDI’s manufacturing operations and the electrical equipment market, provides a strong foundation for him and the THIBIDI Board to further strengthen collaboration between the company and GELEX Electric in the next phase of development.
Electrical equipment is one of the key pillars of GELEX’s growth strategy. Each business within the Group brings its own specialized capabilities. The focus, therefore, is not only on developing each company individually, but also on connecting these capabilities to create greater value across the Group.
THIBIDI has nearly 50 years of experience in the research, design and manufacture of transformers. The company continues to focus on improving product quality, technological capabilities and its ability to meet market requirements. For THIBIDI, the focus in the next phase will be to further strengthen its core expertise in transformers while strengthening collaboration with other businesses across the GELEX ecosystem in areas including market development, technology, manufacturing, governance and resource sharing.
